“You Are Not Alone” Campaign & Olive Harvest 2025
In response to the escalating challenges faced by Palestinian farmers, the “Olive 2025” campaign was launched in early October at the start of the olive harvest season. The campaign was jointly implemented by grassroots popular committees, civil society organizations, and the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, and continued through the end of the season to ensure coordinated support throughout the harvest period.
As part of this broader effort, the Land Defense Coalition “You Are Not Alone” campaign provided direct support, protection, and practical resources to farmers on the ground. During the 2025 season, the campaign documented 4,494 settler attacks, highlighting the scale of risks faced by rural communities. In addition, 3,886 olive trees were cut or burned, directly affecting farmers’ livelihoods and undermining long-term agricultural resilience.
Despite these conditions, the campaign maintained a consistent field presence. 32 international volunteers were arrested or deported while accompanying farmers and supporting their access to land, underscoring the importance—and challenges—of providing protective presence in high-risk areas. The campaign also ensured the accompaniment of dozens of families to their lands, supporting their right to safely access and cultivate their property.
To enhance farmers’ ability to harvest efficiently while minimizing exposure to risk, the campaign distributed 65 electronic olive harvest machines, along with 400 harvesting mats and essential tools. These interventions contributed to faster, safer harvesting, particularly in vulnerable locations.
Tree Planting Campaign
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen agricultural resilience and restore affected lands, a complementary Tree Planting Campaign was implemented. A total of 1,400 seedlings—including olive, almond, and grape varieties—were distributed, benefiting 49 farmers across six villages.
Seedling distribution by location:
- Um Safa: 300 seedlings – 10 farmers
- Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya: 250 seedlings – 13 farmers
- Deir Assodan / Wadi Ajjoul: 200 seedlings – 5 farmers
- Qusra: 250 seedlings – 8 farmers
- Qaryout: 250 seedlings – 8 farmers
- Yanoon: 150 seedlings – 5 farmers
This intervention contributed to restoring agricultural productivity, supporting farmers’ livelihoods, and reinforcing community resilience, while helping safeguard agricultural land in areas most exposed to ongoing threats.
Sustained Impact
Together, these efforts reflect an integrated approach that combines immediate support with longer-term resilience-building. Beyond responding to urgent challenges during the harvest season, the campaign contributes to strengthening farmers’ ability to remain on their land and continue cultivating it under difficult conditions.
